Protecting Family Values...
Steve understands that our freedoms, liberties and quality of life stems from a people that hold to a strong set of moral values and principles. Steve knows that the citizens of Henry County don't look to Hollywood for moral leadership, we look to ourselves, our communities, our faith, and our traditional values.
Henry County needs a Representative who will take the values of Suburban Georgia to the Capitol, not bring liberal Atlanta values to Henry County.
Our values can only by defended by a legislator who will have the courage to stand against the liberal Atlanta mindset. We must defend the sanctity of marriage as being between one man and one woman. We must defend the sanctity of life, support the Second Amendment and ensure our children have the right to express their religious convictions through prayer.
By defending the Georgia values of faith, family and freedom we will preserve our culture and our way of life.
Immigration...
The ever increasing number of illegal aliens entering into Georgia is having a drastic effect on our government, our economy and our health care system. Those who are entering this country illegally come for a variety of reasons. Some are criminals trying to escape law enforcement in their home country, some are coming to engage in criminal activity in the United States, some are entering to engage in acts of terrorism against our citizens; however, the majority are seeking to benefit from our system of free enterprise.
These individuals have violated our federal laws to enter this nation and they should be treated as any other criminal. However; some legislators have offered legislation that would extend government benefits to illegal aliens including issuing drivers licenses, extending Hope Scholarship benefits to non-US. citizens, and providing health care benefits.
We need a representative who will have the courage to stand up to the liberal special interests in Atlanta, and ensure that those who have violated our laws by entering this country illegally are prosecuted, not rewarded, for their illegal actions.
Lower Taxes/Fiscal Responsibility...
Like most Americans, Georgians are overburdened with taxes. In fact, Georgia's taxes on businesses and individuals are higher than almost all our neighboring states.
Georgians deserve a tax system that is fair for everyone and doesn't punish individual achievement and success. Steve believes that eliminating our current Income tax and replacing it with a statewide consumption tax would increase government revenues, lower the tax burden on individuals and businesses, and have a positive impact on our economy.
With the recent budget challenges the state has faced, it is imperative that our state government take a hard look at waste and duplication of services. By cutting wasteful government spending we can reduce the amount of revenue needed to provide services and inevitably provide tax relief for all Georgians. |
